Like tales of drug addiction or serial killers, the world of dangerous eating may repel us, but when someone’s eating a ghost pepper, it’s hard to look away.
Forbes’s food issue (!) features a photo essay that celebrates the joys of “Extreme Eats.” With pictures of gut-wrenching favorites like deep-fried pizza, beer-battered burgers, and the Elvis fave Fool’s Gold Loaf, just looking at it will raise your cholesterol level (and disturb the good folks over at the Center for Science in the Public Interest). David M. Ewalt’s accompanying essay even includes a quote from the ultimate binger’s movie, 1980’s Dom DeLuise vehicle (!) Fatso.
I have a question for anyone out there in Massachusetts. I am looking for pictures of the old Actonion Restaurant located at the corner of Routes 111 & 27 when I was a kid.
