Pizza Party

Slashfood’s Nicole Weston writes of Wonder Pizza, a vending machine that dispenses pizza. You put in $5 and select a crispness option, the machine drops a pie into its souped-up toaster oven, and in two minutes or so your hot cheesy melty pizza pops out. Sweet! Might I make a suggestion, Wonder Pizza? Put these machines where people get drunk. Thank you.

Actually, all the food companies of America should get on this vending machine thing. If there were good food in vending machines, I would buy nothing else, because I hate talking to actual people. Who doesn’t, in this Internet age? In Japan they have vending machines that dispense all kinds of crazy crap: dry ice, live lobsters, used panties. If the people of Japan can get it done, then by God we can make a vending machine that’ll give me a great crème brûlée.

  1. My husband swears that his school in France had a machine that made pizzas (as in, poured on the sauce, added cheese, and placed ingredients that you selected, etc.), but I refuse to believe him. I’d much rather be proven wrong, though.

  2. There’s a place in NYC that has vending machines with edible real food: Bamn! (http://bamnfood.com/)

  3. Not to rock the boat, but I think I’d prefer pizza made by properly sanitary people than by metal gears and pulleys. Vending machine pizza jsut can’t be good. It can’t! Febo (FAY-bo) has been cranking out scary, identical-looking breaded “snacks” and burgers in the Netherlands for years despite the fresh sandwich shops, and steak and pancake houses right next door. Here’s the “snack” list: http://www.febo.nl/set_frames/snack.html

Vending machines for milk and eggs are one thing, but vendo pizza is just an anti-foodie mockery. Even if it were Wolfgang Puck.

  4. I am a pizza lover, and the thought of a slice coming out of a vending machine is alittle much, but can it work and make money absolutly!!!!! kids love all that pop in toster pizza stuff so why not give it a try at 5 bucks a slice i would invest in the idea .

  5. sounds good to me…its not for everyone, but for airports, train stations etc 24 hour places could be $$$$$ time…..
anyone know the company/vending people that do this?

  6. Great! it could be a new opportunity. I have learned the manufacturer is an Italian Company … what a best manufaturer???? see http://www.wonderpizza.org .
Let me know if there’s a distributor located in my area (CA)
